Lambeth councils aims to make the traffic restrictions on The Cut permanent

During COVID-19 Lambeth Council introduced temporary vehicle restrictions at The Cut and Greet Street in Waterloo, to aid social distancing measures. These temporary restrictions were converted into an Experimental Traffic Order.

This resulted in cycling rates almost doubling and five new parklets being introduced. The Cut now connects various local cycling routes, including the C5 on Baylis Road, the C10 on Cornwall Road and the C14 on Union Street.

After various monitoring stages, Lambeth Council have decided to make the traffic restrictions and street improvements in Waterloo permanent to support local businesses and improve the area for local people.
